THE Immortal’s mighty Son, renowned in song,
Proclaim I from the heart, to whom a throne
The most high Father gave for a possession
Ere he was born; and then he was raised up,

He having fled from fire first shall behold
The blessed Spirit of God descending down

This book is scarcely entitled to a place among the Sibylline Oracles, or to be called a book. It is a brief hymn in honor of Christ and the cross, and probably of later date than any other portion of the present collection.
