This is the companion volume to Ms. Rickert’s Romances of Love, which are online here already.
True friendship is as worthy to be honored as true love, then and now.
These stories illustrate the value of a boon companion, with all the courtly glamor of medieval chivalry.
The Introduction, is well done, but it should be read last — it is full of spoilers. Jump to the first story instead: Amis and Amiloun. There is another version, Amis and Amile translated from the French by Eugene Mason in his collection onsite. Comparisons are good.
All of these would make great theatre.
